If you have never heard of this you will think it is so strange!! The Hammam is traditional bathing in Morocco. Some people go once a week or once a month, for some it is there only form of bathing because they dont have a shower in their home. There is no shower in the house i am staying so it was necessary I tried this tradition!

I entered the Hammam trying to tell myself not to be nervous hehe. I was lead to a dry changing room where i stripped to just my undies. I gave my bag of clothes to the lady who works there. You can distinguish the staff by their uniform... red undies (nothing else)!! She gave me a bucket to put my bathing stuff - my shampoo, soap, my exfoliating glove and water scoop. I was lead into a hot and steamy wet room. The lady set my place with a plastic mat on the floor and three buckets of hot water. There was a rather large woman and her daughter and one other woman already bathing. So I sat there and slowly exfoliated my whole body. It felt great especially because I had already been one hot and dusty day in Marrakech before I got up the guts to go to the Hammam. 😱

Two younger girls joined the room and proceeded to scrub eachother. I think it is kind of like how we go for coffee, these woman catch up whilst scrubbing themselves clean!! Seeing I was alone the staff lady came over to me and took my glove to scrub my back. It was great! For only 3 or 4 you can tip the ladies to give you a full scrub all over. I was obviously much quicker than the Moroccan girls because they kind of giggled when I went to leave.

So much other amazing things i am seeing every day... Snake handlers, tables in the street full of teeth for sale, donkeys moving carts through the streets, drinking THE BEST mint tea... Too much to write about now. I apologise this is writen very poorly but i am on a VERY strange keyboard which is so difficult. Lots of love xoxox
