Got our camera jacked last night on the bus on the way here so hafta get a new one. Which really sucks because we had some awesome pics yesterday. First our taxi drove us in circles around quito which has a population of about 2 mill tryin to run up our fare. So we didnt pay him the full price. Then we took a twenty minute bus ride to the middle of the world. We did a lil tour of the museum they had set up there and saw how the ancient indians down here used to live. They had a "parisite catfish" from the amazon that swims up your urinary tract if you pee in the water. No exageration it was 5 inches long!
got to see some original and some remakes of their housing and how they built them whith layers of wood, rock, mud and animal feces. Then on the equator they did a few experiments, such as we balanced an egg on the head of a nail. Which is possible in the rest of the world but a lot easier there. Then they set up a sink and poured 5 gallons of water into it, on the equator the water falls straight down it does not spin, North of the equator 5 feet the water spins counter clockwise, and south of the equator 5 feet it spins clockwise. Very trippy. Then they did a strength test on me and Josh. Holding my hands together out in front of me he pulled down with all his weight. Then standing on the equator he did the same thing only he used one hand and easily pulled my arms down. Really wierd. A little later in the evening we got to meet a young brother who works in the translation department here at the Ecuador bethel. He knows spanish, quechia and english. Glad to talk to someone in english. Then our taxi took josh and I to the north bus terminal when we needed to be at the central terminal. So with 45 minutes til departure some random Ecuadorian and his wife gave us a ride to the right terminal. And we made it in record time. Passing on hills, corners, with oncoming traffic. Not sure what the driving laws are here but many were brokin to get us on the bus. 10 hours later were in Puerto Lopez with Dene, Lydia and there 12 year old son Jaden. Canadian need greaters who have lived here before but this time for 2 years. And we will be here through monday or tuesday. But were havin a great time. Miss everyone, but not too much.
