A 17 hour plane ride is not for the faint of heart. Literally. Within 15 minutes of boarding, one woman fainted in her seat, leading her to disembark and head back home. Five hours into the flight, another girl fainted by the bathrooms and pretty much throughout the entire flight, a boy threw up all over himself and the seats next to him. Really nasty. When we arrived in Johannesburg, we met up with Bruce, who works for Gracy Travel Agency. He was our knight in shining armor. Our flight was delayed an hour and a half, so we were under a major time constraint to catch our Cape Town flight. Bruce guided us from customs to the baggage checking area. He pushed one of our carts and I pushed the other. Let me say, balancing four 50 pound bags, while blindly trying to navigate up an escalator is terrifying. While on the escalator I felt like at any moment to bags would come toppling down or that the cart would start rolling towards me. After triumphing over the escalators, Bruce cut in front of over 50 people all of whom were waiting to check bags to Cape Town. Yea, we were real popular with that move! Not actually a way to build international relations. Bruce then guided us to our plane which was boarding. After 25 hours of airports and airplanes, we arrived in Cape Town. . Our only scars from the flight were my red eyes, mom’s cackles, and Sandy’s growing hatred of lame action novels.

I can not add photos for another day. Sorry!

What an interesting week
Well you went from medical drama, to jet lag, to great food, to your first week of school. You mentioned the "Dead Poet's Society" my all-time favorite movie. I am confident you are one of the folks who will be standing on the top of their desk. Best wishes and keep the blog going. Donny
