Firstly, check out our previous blogs again; We're in the process of embedding specific pictures on to our blog. Mat checked out the other blogs on this website and has started to get a bit competitive! We understand that only some of you could view the India images from the link, serves you bloody right for not subscribing! Jokes. But.. It turns out that only those that subscribed could view the photos. Anywho, that won't be a problem now because you'll be able to view the photos as we go along (this is still work in progess!).

So, Bangkok. We told you a little bit about it in the last blog and to be honest, there's not much more to add. A lot of the entertainment didn't really appeal to us but it's quite hard to go against the grain out here, but we're trying nonetheless! The only things to report from Bangkok are the floating market that we went to, which was good to see but was no doubt set up for tourists, the MBK Centre (a MASSIVE shopping centre - it really was huge, 7 floors of retail therapy!) and we also experienced a Thai Massage which was

pretty painful and a fish spa. The fish spa meant dunking your feet into what is essentially an oversized fish tank with loads of tiny little fish - As soon as you put your feet in, the fish start eating your dead skin cells. Mat seemed to love this sensation and Amber was too ticklish! We're thinking of getting it done again in Chiang Mai though, your feet get pretty rank when you're travelling. Oh... That nearly skipped our minds... One night we went to a Reggae bar (owned by Rasta Thai men - Now that's something worth seeing!!), they gave us a shot of "special Whiskey", once we had downed it they brought over the decanter. Turns out it was Cobra and Scorpion infused Whiskey - Literally, a snake was tucked inside this bottle. Mental. Absolutely mental.

After 3 days of the Kao San Road, we booked a coach and headed North to Chiang Mai. Our bus journey from Udaipur to Mumbai was luxury compared to this! Apparently there are no sleeper buses out here, just buses with slightly reclining seats, meaning that Mat had to fold his body in half in order to just sit on the

bloody things! It was not a nice trip. Adding to this, it was Mat's turn to test the strength of his bladder. He lasted more than an hour, only to find out once we stopped for a toilet break that there was a toilet on the coach all along! When we say "Mat's turn", we didn't actually blog about Amber's little incident on the respective bus journey in India. Let's just say that they were desperate times!! And... The only thing to pee in was a crisp packet. Enough said.

We arrived at 6.30am on Saturday and managed to hunt down a lovely little hotel with a pool and free internet. Safe to say we spent the rest of Saturday lounging round the pool! On Sunday we decided to avoid all Tuk Tuk and Taxi Drivers trying to persuade us to go to different sites and hired push bikes. It was loads of fun to just ride around and do your own thing. We did a Temple and Market tour and stopped off for coffee when we got to the river. The bikes weren't quite like Daisy (Amber's Raleigh Caprice) but they were Raleigh's which made Amber feel right at home! Mat stopped for an impulsive haircut and to say that we didn't have any photos of what his hair looked like short, the lady did a really good job of it.

Today, we have booked a Trekking Tour and also sorted out our visas for Laos (we'll probably be heading here in a week or two). Our trek includes two nights staying with a hill tribe, an elephant trek, white water rafting, bamboo rafting and waterfall bathing! We're really excited. Our bus picks us up at 9am tomorrow, from then on we'll be in the jungle for the next 3 days. Amber managed to navigate her way around a Thai website and booked 2 nights in a wooden bungalow in the Doi Suthep-Pui National Park for when we return from our trek. It looks incredible, there's a zoo, copious waterfalls, lots of trekking trails and Doi Suthep Temple. In the middle of the old city, there are manmade water features with huge fish in. We got great pleasure today watching the fish go crazy over the 20p fish food we bought!

After this, we're going to head further North and then make our way over to

Chiang Khong to get a 3 day slow boat over to Laos. We are also in the process of trying to secure a two-week placement volunteering in an Orphanage in Cambodia. We'll let you know when we make progress on this.

It's strange really, there are actually more prostitutes up here than in Bangkok. We've seen so many old Western men with young Thai girls, it's a little bit disturbing to be honest. We think it's just part of what you see when you're in Thailand.

You're pretty much up-to-date now, and we'll be t'internet-less for the next 5 days but be sure of an interesting blog when we return from our adventures!

Much love to all,

Amber and Mat

She was trying to sell Mat a rose and challenged him to a game of rock, paper, scissors. She then proceeded to take the mick out of him for 10 minutes. I liked this girl.
