Impressive mountains and sheer cliffs.
Well here we are again back in the good old USA. We are in Montana, just outside Glacier National Park. We drove from Lake Louise to Glacier National Park yesterday hoping to find somewhere to stay. When we got to the park gate we were told that the road through the park was closing that night, so we decided to keep driving and have the experience of going from one side to the other. The road is called the "Going to the Sun Road", and is regarded as one of the most picturesque roads in the USA. By the time we got to our motel we had been driving for over 10 hours, but it had to be done.

They close the road each winter for repairs, so we got through with only a few hours to spare. The rain was setting in as we drove, so we filmed and videoed as much as we could in the time available. We decided to stay in a motel for a couple of nights to recover and decide what to do next, so here we are.

The last few days we have spent in Jasper National Park exploring the area before

This was the highest point in the park and quite scary.
going down the Icefields Parkway to see Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. The scenery was absolutely unbelievable. Around Jasper we saw glaciers, glorious waterfalls and wildlife.

We were so incredibly lucky with the weather. It was beautiful for the three days we were there and rained on the day we left. On the Icefield Parkway we stopped at the Athabasca Glacier and had a tour out onto the glacier. While we were there we saw an avalanche which I was able to video. The snow was so bright, and apparently the day before, there had been a huge snow storm and people couldn't see 10ft in front of their faces.

When we arrived in Lake Louise we found a beautiful campsite and hoped for good weather and we were in luck. It was misty to start the day, but it lifted and the views were incredible.
