The week-end started in Copenhagen. Initial plan was a direct flight to Brussels and a short evening with my friend Elias. It would have been an ideal plan! But! Elias live in Peru...and we were on a mission, going to the wedding of our friends Christophe and Caroline. They live in Peru, but the wedding was next to Dinant in the South of Belgium.

Well, that was the initial plan. I arrived on time for my flight, to be told, sorry your flight have been cancelled. You will now fly through Amsterdam, and arrive 2 hours later at 10pm. What! No way! So they found me another choice, this time flying to Warsaw on SAS follow by a short connection on Brussels Airlines to Brussels. I have never fly on Brussels Airlines...thought everything would be safe...well. I should have reach Brussels by 8pm. Everything went fine...flight to Warsaw...as they don't give you anything in the plane anymore...fast stop at the lounge...boarding to my flight to Brussels on time...got on a plane...and than....well, put it simply, they found a safety slide on one of the Avro doors was not as it should be.

Let's put it short. The airport of Warswa was going in heavy duty few hours later to redo the runway surfacing...meaning way fewer flights later on for the week-end. And I had a wedding the next morning...wedding for which I cross continents, and to which one I was supposed to deliver a speach too!

An Avro can fly with a defect slide, as the plane is quite a small one, but they can only fly with half of the passengers. We were 68...they needed 21 people out. Even offering a flight next afternoon (not good for me), hotel and 250euros per volunteer...well, the all process took them...yes...4 hours! At 10pm...we were finally ready to depart for Brussels. We reached Belgium at midnight. One more trick for info for my fellow travellers. At this time there was no more train to the city. So I went to baggage assistance to ask for a taxi voucher. First the guy was a little stun! What? Voucher for a free taxi! Yes sir, I'm not going to pay 55 euros when I could have take the train, and your flight is delay because of bad maintenance....you guess it...got my voucher!

So 1am to my hotel...and 7am up to reach Dinant. We were not many, but we were arriving from Lima, Joburg, etc...and even my parents were there! What a beautufil day....I think we can seriously thank the families of Christophe and Caroline to make this day a such beautiful...and sunny day!

On Sunday, we went back north to Antwerpen for a family reunion and to visit my godfather...before making our way down to Luxembourg the same evening. I can tell you, I was happy my Dad was driving. And on Monday, spend the day with Pello, Christophe, Caroline and a friend of Christophe...in Luxembourg. Kind of crazy, I know!

The best part must have been my Dad, Pello and Christophe together at the airport to tell me bye on my flight to Asia (through Vienna). It's a small world. If you want to follow our last advenutres....we were all in Peru early July.

I'm now back in Bangkok...for few more days. I promise...a lot less entries in the coming weeks. It's not that we will stop to travel, it's that I simply have to work...yes, you know...

But what a sunny week-end in Europe...

So with Love...next entry in a week....a little family trip...with a lot of smiles and cuddles to come!
