My only picture from China so far.... my surrogate parents for the moment!!
So I arrived in China 3 days ago and its finally time for me to set up this blog. What inspired me most to do this is the fact that the Chinese govenment have facebook blocked so this is gonna be my main method of contact from now on. So first I'll talk about China and what I am at now then I'll backtrack on the last two months and add some pictures.
So I'm living in Tangshan which is in the Hebei province of Northern China, roughly 2 and 1/2hrs from Beijing. I am starting teaching this weekend. I am working in a school that is run by the American company Aston who have english schools in about 40 different locations throughout China. My school is owned and run by Eddie, an american and his chinese wife Sally both of whom are amazing and have made my first few days of settling in great.
I am living in an apartment 15minute walk from my school. When the rest of the foreign teachers arrive (one from England and two from America) I will be getting a flat mate. The apartment is on the 6th floor and so Im certainly gonna be kept fit going up and down the 91steps at least twice a day.... But it has everything I need especially the fact that it has free wi-fi and a phone, and best thing is it's all paid for execpt for the phone bill!!
One other thing I think I should mention here is my form of transport.... a bike, something which I haven't been on in a long time. My first day Eddie took me to the bike shop and I had to choose my bike. Rows and rows of bikes and Eddie asks me to pick one thats exactley the same as sending me into a car shop and saying pick one I'm just gonna choose it purely on how it looks because I know nothing about bikes. Anyways hopped on a nice silver one that looked the right height for me and within minutes it was bought. So it was fairly daunting riding the busy streets of China on my bike but I've quickly gotten used to it and I'm fine now.
Well that's all the new from China at the moment, I will update my other travels later xx

China Tower!
I'm delighted to hear that you've arrived safely and with visa! :-) Mum is laughing beside me at the thought of you on a bike - she hopes you don't ride your new wheels like you did the Fabia!ha i don't know how you're surviving all those steps with your Vertigo problem - it must be like climbing to the view point in Phi Phi! What's the weather like? My tan is fading drastically after all those hours we put in, lying on various Thai beaches! Can't wait to hear your blogs of our travels....miss ya xxxx
