Lassen Volcanic National Park
Lassen volcano last erupted in 1917. Its been almost a week since I've added to the blog and we've travelled through Oregon to Washington State since then. After we left Lake Tahoe we went to an amazing place called Lassen Volcanic National Park. It's part of the cascade Range of mountains that stretch down the western part of the US and include St Shasta, Mt Hood and Mt St Helens.
At Lassen Volcanic National Park we saw a hydrothermal area with mudpools and fumeroles which were fascination. We walked through a lava tube which was so big you could drive a car through.
We didn't plan to stay here, but we had a day up our sleeves and we are so pleased we changed our plans. That is the joy of having a campervan and having the freedom "to sleep around."
The next day we travelled past Mt Shasta and took a video of it from Weed, a town not far from it.
We're enjoying camping as every camp site here has its own metal fireplace and table and seats. We're enjoying having a fire each night and having beautiful scenery around us.
We're now just south of Seattle, but have no intention
Crater Lake
Crater Lake has been another highlight and was caused by a volcano collapsing after it had blasted out all its magma. of going back in. We found the place overwhelming, too many flyover, too many cars, too many options. We didn't know where we were going, so we turned around drove south and found a motel to say for the night. We'll head off to Olympic National Park tomorrow then up into Canada. Its amazing to think this is the start of our third week and we have done and seen so much.
That's it for now folks, more in a week or so. Here is a link to our latest video.

Fantastic video!
What a trip, I can't believe the vastness and beauty of Yosemite park. Yogi bear sold the place short! Do you have a GPS? look forward to the next instalment. GB Mt Eliza Welshes
