Hi gang. We got up at 4.30am on Thursday to leave for the airport. Korean Air was a wonderful flight. Couldn't complain much. We asked for emergency exit seats and got them. The extra leg room made the 10 hour flight to Sth Korea more comfortable but it was traded off by having to sit next to the toilets with the occasional bad smell and sometimes having a queue of people standing next to us. But anyway, 4 movies later and we landed safely at Incheon airport. One thing different about the flight which we hadn't experienced before was the cameras on the exterior of the plane which we could access: pointed ahead and below (only good when there was no cloud cover).

Overnight stay in Korea was spent in a reasonable hotel although our non-smoking room reeked of stale cigarettes. We had a traditional Korean buffet banquet for dinner which was surprisingly good. They also supplied free beer which I couldn't find until the Korean lady showed me this dispenser that looked like one of those orange juice dispensers. Incheon (which is like a Geelong from Melbourne) reminded me of Thailand a bit (the run down sections). I'll give them one thing though, they have nice cars which were immaculately clean. Ironically, given the small stature of the race, their pedestrian green men walking signs were massive compared to ours.

We arrived at the airport the next day amidst a deluge of rain. We were informed the day before that Korea had really bad weather and that the flight could be delayed. Winds up to 200 km/h! Lucky for us though the flight to London was on time. We did lose our 3 x 200ml bottles of spirits though when we entered customs. They were not allowed in our carry on luggage even though they had been sealed in Melbourne and we were guaranteed that we could take them in our carry-on luggage. The sympathetic security lady said we could go back out and buy a box for them to be stored with all the check in luggage but the extra $$ and wasted time did not seem worth it. Anyway, next stop London!!!!
