It's been a fun 24 hours...

Last night we went out for dinner and a couple of dirinks. Found a lovely restaurant close to the hostel called Persepolis. They advertised Italian and Persian food which seemed an odd combination but the pizza and pasta we had was gorgeous and very filling. The beer was on offer so we had a jug of that, even though I normally prefer spirits and i have to admit it was lovely so i can now add tiger beer to drinks i like 😊

The road with the restaurant on had a few bars so we went into what looked like the busied. it was a karaoke bar but with no private rooms, you just all sang in the same room which i suppse is more like what happens at home. the other people left soon after rach and i started singing (a coincidence i'm sure!!) so we had the bar to ourselves for abuot 45 minutes. bad for their business, awesome for us 😊 We sang loads of songs and drank more beer before venturing down the road to find a few more people. The whole street seemed to cater for Chinese so all had karaoke on, so we just went to the busiest. we ended up sitting with this group of highly suspicious characters, 3 old men and 4 young girls. hmmmm.

anyway, it wasn't a late night but was lots of fun with various silly photographs as evidence.

today we had a little lie in then went to sentosa, universal studios. it was awesome!! so good. it's not officially opened yet so there were a couple of rides not open (including a massive rollercoaster that looks wicked) but there was still lots we could do. the longest we had to queue for anything was ten minutes, but most rides we just sailed right through. Highlights were the Mummy Returns ghost train and the Waterworld Show and we also saw a very bizarre specatale called Monsters of Rock where various film monsters danced to rock 'classics' though how they could include britney spears in that I'm not sure! it was funny though, even if that was not the intention. We were given meal and retail vouchers when we went in so we saved a few pennies too. it was a great day and i would really recommend anyone to come to singapore and spend a few days in sentosa.
