Rural Address of India
Seriously this seems very far away to me. In reality it's approximately 45 minutes outside of Hyderabad - a city of ~8 million I'm on my way today to Intern (volunteer overseas) for Child Haven International (CHI) at one of their eight orphanages in Asia. I will be volunteering at their home just outside of Hyderabad in a rural village of Kismatpur.
The home houses ~145 kids and 20 women, all who have come from destitute situations. All of the kids who come to CHI, come under the age of 6 and generally have no family or the family is too poor to care for them or in some cases are handicap and can't. CHI keeps the child thru the completion of high school and works to train them so that they can get decent jobs in life. A few of the bright, overachieving kids, are selected to go on for higher education. All supported by generous donors across the globe. As an intern, I will be working with the local staff, helping out with homework/tutoring, schedule and routine, improving their english and general help around the home. This property has been fortunate enough to build a brand new building that will house the boys sleeping quarters and provide much needed extra space for day to day living. Because the building is new,

Look above the bend in the river - thats Kismat there is work to be done getting it ready - ideal for me - an open canvas for creativity! 😊

And away we go!
Before heading out on a trip when we were kids my dad used to always say that - it's an old Jackie Gleason line. Good luck Kiki and I will be thinking about you and looking for your posts. And remember have fun, be good and learn stuff - that's what I said to my kids every day as they left for school. Love, Annie
