camels
Have come aross quite a few herds of camels. They are a lovely site. After a week of travelling, crossing the Gibson desert, seeing camels, lots of great sunsets and sunrises, expensive petrol (2.80 and 3.20) aboriginal communities, sand storms and lots of interesting country in between we have arrived at Port Hedland. Camping along the way we have enjoyed many nights eating, drinking and watching the stars. The boys even managed an ice-cream cake for my birthdat last Thursday. Carrawine Gorge was lovely and a nice place to sit in water and wash the dust off.
Peter here - having a great time & totally unstressed!
The country has been tough, dry, barren & bloody empty. I'm putting up with Brickie & the VB's are holding out.
Enjoyed following Len Beadell's markers & story I have previously read. He established alot of roads in the outback & was the main surveyor for Woomera.
Anyway - as the Hash House Harriers say - on on!
