At night, I listen to my posdcasts, sometimes BBC documentaries, some times self help things sometimes comedy. Last night, in the three hours when I couldn't sleep from the heat, I listened to the ones from The Stand during the Glasgow Comedy Festival, and the ones they've started recording at Edinburgh this year. I really, really miss live comedy. A couple of the guys on the Glasgow podcasts are acts that I've seen, and lines that I've laughed at and they did make me laugh again, but also made me really, really want to just rock up at a venue and be entertained for a couple of hours. Although Leamington Spa was a small town they had really good entertainment - pub quizzes (which I also miss by the way, I was in two really fun teams), live comedy and live music. And I MISS IT.

In one of those lovely coincidences that life sometimes throws at you I came into work feeling nostalgic for my Leamington life and had an email waiting foir me from my dear friend Russ. (Yup Russ, you get a name check and everything!) He caught me up on all the news and it made me happy to know that I am remembered!

Really tired today, we had a 3 hour power cut last night from the storm so no AC. Absolutely boiling hot, finally got to sleep about 3am to be woken before 7 by the stupid, ignorant, selfish builders working on next door's apartment. It's been over 6 weeks now, and it's not that big of an apartment. I am very cross and trying to learn some swearing in Chinese!

This evening we've got a bit of a handover meeting at work so I'm getting prepared for that. Haven't had any Valentines day cards yet, but I'm sure the postman is just struggling to carry them all on his wee bike 😊
