Hi Everyone!
Got some internet time at the campsite we're at now which is Stadscamping in Rotterdam.
Well we got the ferry which was a nice sunny sail and finally got to Amsterdam after a de tour through Leiden the University town, due to an accident on the main road. The countryside on the drive there was lovely. So many greenhouses growing all sorts of flowers, fruit and veg. Lots of animals too.
We parked at Sloterdijk P&R and got the next train stop into Centraal Station and headed for a coffeeshop for ice tea and espresso. We then took a stroll to Damsquare. After watching some random guy in a costume we went to Suzies bar by the canal for a drink. Then got a slice of pizza for dinner and headed back to the van.
After deciding not to sleep in the van we headed to Camping Zeeburg which was about 20 mins away. They were really friendly and we set up the van outside the main gate cause it was late. We set up the bed and made a hot choc. We checked out the bar area which was a lush wooden decked area with low lighting and had a drink then headed to bed.
After a lie in we got out stuff together, fixed a puncture, had a freezing shower and some breakfast. We set off on the bikes to the Vondelpark. The cycle path system is so easy to navigate and we made it to the park. We took a ride round the whole place and headed back through the streets of Amsterdam to the campsite. We packed the van up, got some bits for dinner and breakfast from the shop and set off for Rotterdam which was about a 50 min drive.
Perfect start to the trip, weather was lovely and bringing the bikes was the best idea ever.
