Singapore

Rachael and I (well, Amanda on our behalf) have just booked a trip to Singapore at the end of the month. We'll be away for just over a week and are hoping to spend a few days somewhere else as well, perhaps Bali, Bintan or Malaysia. Rachael has been before but stayed with a friend so didn't do too much that was touristy so is happy to go back. We're really excited about it and are just booking some youth hostels now.

Holidays are more expensive than you would think over here - there's a 30% luxury tax and I think maybe holidays are in that bracket so it means that apart from this trip to Singapore we may only manage one more foreign trip while we're over here. We will of course be exploring a lot of China though, and are planning to go somewhere internal in the October week.

Other than holidays booking there's not a lot happening. We're going out tonight, feeling brave so going to venture to a bar. Last time I went (at Xmas) there were a lot of prostitutes who kept coming over to us, but as we're not going out with boys this time we should be safe.

we've actually already booked there - rachael's dad stayed there and highly recommended it. also booked a place in KL, just need to decide for the last few days - do we want to spend a fortune and stay in Sentosa itself, or save a few pennies by staying elsewhere and travelling in. EXCITED!!! thank you though :)
