Ok this was the best part of the day, just didn't want to include so very much in one post. This a.m. sometime after breakfast and walk, we were down in the lobby and a young woman from the U.S. approached me and asked if we were adopting a baby. When I said yes, she said "I know him. I volunteered at his orphanage." She calls him "Chinchia" as this is the nickname that the nannies have given him. I couldn't believe it, between that and the jet lag, I almost fainted. Her friend who also volunteered there (these were the two American volunteers I heard about) are in Beijing because the second young woman's parents are adopting two girls from Zhengzhou, Jin's area.

She told me so much about Jin Jin, I almost couldn't keep up. She told me what he eats, how he feeds himself, how he is messy with his food. She said he is very social, very active, very alert, very loved by the nannies, and is known for his love of food (sorry, eyes got teary a little at this, he really is our son). In fact, the nannies give him the extra food after all are done eating. He is huge! Just a bit shorter than Bao but "bigger around the middle". Think Bao needs to rethink his often stated plan of "hit Jin" when he sees him for their first meeting as he may not know what he's in for. They said other things, sorry to go on so much, but want to preserve this for Jin. He is very affectionate, and if a nanny is feeding a child on the floor, he will go up behind them, peek around them and throw his body around the nanny's neck. He moves his crib while he is in it as they are on wheels and he just shoves his body back and forth until it moves. Then when he is out of the crib he moves the rest of the cribs around the room. When they put them back, he smiles mischievously and then moves them back again. I have always said that we needed help with furniture placement at home. He smiles a lot and has a sense of humor.

He carries around the photo album that we sent him of us all of the time. He points to his picture, then "plops himself down in their laps" and wants them to go through it with him. Katie described a shirt that I was wearing in one of the pictures as she has seen it so much. He gets very upset when the nannies try to take the photo album from him. (Ok this did make me cry!)

She said they had photos of him, and I called her when we got back from our day out. We had dinner together and then they brought their laptop to the room. It was so amazing to see him! I wish we could have posted some here but they are going to email them to me. But here is a photo of these two incredibly focused young women, Autumn on the left is a nursing student, and Katie wants to run her own orphanage one day. We are so very grateful to them!
