32 hours in transit
After a marathon 32 hours after leaving Melbourne, we made it safely to down town Lima and the deluxe hotel, Maury.
Sunday night enjoyed James Polly´s burnt sausages and stocked up on potato and egg salad, little sleep as the new colour bond fence was threatening to come through our window thanks to the cyclone blowing outside. We made it to Tullamarine at 5am and started with a smooth short hop to Sydney. Checking in with Air Canada and 14 hours across the pacific to Vancouver with no TV. Thankfully we had a two year old French Canadian girl to keep us amused and Sleepy Steve on the otherside, who managed to sleep for 10 hours straight. Later finding out he was infact born and raised in Bendigo.
Feeling the effects in Vancouver, we got our first stamp, picked up our bags, walked 20m and rechecked them in ready to board for our next flight. Two minutes from taking off to Toronto Spewy Sam decideds to grace us with his presence. The sound of his stomach emptying itself could be heard throughout the whole plane, not just once but twice. We both slept for
the 4 hours until we reached Toronto.
Another short stopover and we finally boarded our last plane to our destination Lima. A rather uneventful 8 hours as we finally got to watch a movie on our inflight entertainment, and peered out the window at the lights of Panama.
We made it though the slowest customs official and got our stamps for Peru. Got our transfer and drove through Lima, just after midnight, checking in, a hot shower and finally hitting the bed at 2am Peru time.
