So we are finally managing to get contact with the rest of the world after 5 days! Only briely though, as we were smart enough to leave behind the only thing we wouldn't want to-the laptop charger-grr!

Anyway, we set off from a rainy Victoria on Thursday morning-sad to leave after our year in Canada-can you believe it was a year?! Nearly didn't make it on to the boat. It was quite a sight to see the immigration officer bombing it out of her office shouting 'Deborah Anderson' at the top of her lungs as we were about to drive on to the boat! Luckily it was just cos we hadn't signed something!! The rest was plain sailing (no pun intended!).

The drive down Washington coast was pretty uneventful, but was the most rain we have seen for 12 months. So we had a fairly wet first night in the tent. As we got on into Oregon it got better and we managed to get a 'campground' right on the beach and could watch the sunset there-pics will, of course, follow...

We arrived in San Francisco on the morning of the 4th July and after only slight cross words, managed to find the hotel. Spent the day walking around in the sunshine at Fisherman's Wharf, along with thousands of others and had a picnic in the park watching the Unofficial Rolling Stones. Even managed to get calamari from Nona Rose's where we did on our honeymoon! Still the best...

It was good to see how the Americans do Independence Day but after lots of days drivng, we were wrecked and in bed (a comfortable hotel bed at that) by 10pm!

Now in Starbucks in Union sq and planning to spend the day walking around and gtting some pics. Tomorrow morning nice and early we set off for Yosemite and stay somewhere around there for the night before hitting Vegas the next day! So hopefully will update from there. Can't wait to hear how you are all doing,

Lots of love from us both xxxxxx
