Sunday 27th June
Arrived in New York City it took us 1 and a half hours on two seperate trains to get to our hostel the Chelsea Star located 30thst 8th ave. We dropped our bags off, had a sleep then went to Times Square.

Monday 28th
Went to the shop nearby and bought cups, spoons, two boxes of cereal and some milk for the week, this cost us $10. We decided to start planning our day so we thought we would start with the Empire State buidling which we got ripped off as the guy that sold us the tickets said we could go higher than everyon eelse if we bought the sky ride tickets. Well it turned out the the sky ride was a simulator! Rubbish!!!! After this we went to the observation deck, which was AMAZING!! You could see for miles.

We walked to Maddison Park and realised that we had gone the wrong way as we wanted to go to Central Park. So we turned around and walked towards Time Square with very sore feet!

Tuesday 29th
After walking enough y'day we thought we would walk some more and go to Ground Zero, financial district, to see the famous bull, we also got the Staten Island Ferry which sailed passed the Statue of liberty. On the way home we stopped off at South Street Seaport, walked under Brooklyn Bridge, up to China Town, through Little Italy then walked through Maddison and Union Square.
Through the day Nathan found 4 bugs on him so as soon as he got to the hostel he took his shirt off to find two in his collar and then when he shook his head he had one come out of his hair. He freaked out so much he got me to shave his head with his electric part of his razor and then to bic his head. End of anoth era ha ha

Wed 30th
Due to Nathan haing a bicced head we had to find him a hat to wear. After this we went to Grand Central Terminal, then to the Guggenheim museum which cost around $18 each.
On our way home we went back to see St Patricks Cathedral, then onto the Rockafella Centre to help build a 30ft apple. I was so chuffed as we were given stickers to wear! he he
We also stopped in Bryant Park- Nathan had a coffee and I had a raspberry ice tea. During our stay at Chelsea Star hotel we met a lovely girl called Natalie Barnes.
That night we bought dinner for $ 4 which the staff at the hostel could not stop laughing at us as we were buying our food so cheap. This was a pack of noodles each and a bag of noodles to share.

Thurs 1st July
After having such a manic week we thought we would have a relaxing day by walking to Maddison and Union Park by watching the people pass and the world go by. In Maddison Park there was a childs activity group, and this was very entertaining as we could join in with the singing of AbC. Big kids again.
Lunch was very cheap and although we bought this from Whole Foods (an M and S for us). We bought a 1 ciabatta bread with breaded chicken for $7- very filling.
Got to the hostel after walking miles agian and spoke to parents on Skype, although the computers were crap and kept cutting out and after $6 later we gave up!!

Thurs night
Had a few drinks in Tempest bar, recommended by George at the hostel. He told us to speak to Liz there who was so helpful and fed us with drinks all night. Sambuca and beer, yum yum.
