Departed 9:00AM. Weather wonderful, cool, low humidity and no clouds.

Highlights

Entered Yellowstone NP at 9:25AM

Saw Yellowstone Lake, large with snow covered mountains in background

Saw bubbling thermal next to Yellowstone Lake (steaming)

Beautiful Yellowstone river with many Buffalo on both sides of the road

Birds seen: Trumpet Swans, Clarks Nutcracker and White Pelicans

Heart leafed Arnica beautiful yellow flowers, everywhere

Buffalo by the side of the road, Big Boys

Male Elk with major rack, up close and personal

Hiked down to the bottom of Yellowstone Lower Falls (309’ Drop) the Upper Falls is 110’. Eleven steep switchbacks and well worth the hike. Rainbow at Lower Falls

Got up close to another Elk on the return to Teton NP

Tomorrow headed for Old Faithful then to a new campsite at West Yellowstone, MT
A new state for me.
