alex and jason, new friends
I stood in line at Termini train station for 2 hours just to find out that I don't need a reservation for my next 2 trains and therefore did not need to get in line at all! SO.... good to know, but it made my whole day pretty unproductive. I met up with a friend and I thought "man, I think I have seen everything in Rome" but he took me to some churches I hadn't seen and out of the city center walls to have a good cheap pizza!

I took it easy in the morning, hostel life is really taxing! I made a few cool friends at the hostel and even a few of the people I knew that worked there are still there. I keep trying to convince them they need a professional massage therapist on staff. God knows I could use a massage! With all the walking around here on cobblestones and loose pavement it has done a number on my feet and legs.
I met a couple really cool people and they hadn't been to Campo Fiori (which is a piazza which has a market in the day, and is full of people at the

Kev and William and I watching the football game
pubs at night, especially weekends), and they also hadnt been to Trasevere which is just across the river and also is a great spot for pub night life. So Me one other girl and two guys decide to head out that night, and some how I ended up being the tour guide and taking like 20 people to these places.... "ok everyone on the bus.... ok everyone off.... turn left... on your right you will see the prime ministers house..... this is largo argentina.....ok this is campo fiori" And the piazza was so packed that as soon as we hit the piazza we all got split up, then all ended up back together! After a while I led them to trastevere and straight to where the good pub I know was. We even all managed to leave together, but as soon as we started walking people got separated. It was still pretty impressive.

The next day I met up for a scooter tour. Once again I thought I had seen everything in Rome, but I saw even more fountains and churches I hadnt seen. It's impossible to know all of Rome! I also saw "the secret key hole" which

some of the Campo fiori crowd
is a round little hole in this door from which you can see a straight shot to the Vatican (which is really far from there), and I also got a chance to relax at the lake in Rome. That night was the football match USA vs Ghana. We decided to go to a popular Irish pub (scholars lounge) and we got there a few hours early to get a table. I got a lesson about rugby and hurling and all these crazy games I hadnt heard of! It ended up being packed, and everyone was chanting and singing. The energy was so intense and fun in there. I had a blast, I think I really love football (real football that is!) So much fun, so many great people. We had a lot of the same people as the night before. Epic...! After the match (which USA lost) we went again to campo fiori.

Sunday I really wanted to go to the museums since they are free the last Sunday of the month. But I literally could not even fathom walking ANY more. But most of the original people from our group met and hung out until one by one

about half of our group! alex, yasmine, camila, jason, me, ?, ?, alex
they left to catch trains and planes. But we had all bonded so much over the last few days and nights we sat and passed around the lap tops and notebooks to get everyones emails and add each other as facebook friends, we even made a group on Facebook called "hostels that rock my socks" as a way to keep in touch, give good advice about hostels etc.

So most of my new friends left, and I made some new ones... I literally sat at the Yellow hostel Bar all day until I was too hungry and me and a friend went to trastevere for aperitivo. We decided that we wanted our last night in Rome to be amazing and that we wanted to go dancing. no one could really afford the club disrict so we settled for campo fiori... again it started as me and one girl, and we invited a few random people to join and AGAIN I ended up leading 20 people to campo fiori. I think those bars should have given me something for all the business I brought in! haha. And we were all joking that I was going to charge them for the pub craw! haha And we did get to go dancing! It was great! We had a really late, and really epic night!
