Edit Blog Post
After writing about 20 of my trips in a week's time, I thought of wrapping up all the remaining in this one blog entry 😊 .. reason.. my notice period at Philips is ending in a couple of days and next week starts my new life.. as the CEO of Jasha!!! wow..
anyway coming back to the remaining trips...
March: 2007 started with our
Ooty-Coonoor trip. We stayed at Lake View resort.. a very reasonably priced resort for the facilities it has... awesome view of the valley, a nice resturant and very spacious rooms. I had earlier been to Ooty only as a kid with family but still remembered quite a few places. We again went to all those standard places every tourist visits 😊 for the first day... but were pretty bored with it and then started trying something different. We drove towards 9th mile, a place where a lot of movie shootings happen (at least thats what we heard). We didnt succeed to find the place but on the way found amazing lakes and woods. The next day we drove to Coonoor. The roads were deserted as we were the only ones driving through all the plantations..
it was really really nice. These places are by itself beautiful and when we are the only ones in the whole place it makes it even more special 😊!!!
Ooty.. many claim that it is now commericialized, overcrowded, etc. etc... but you can still have a great time if you go at the right time and to the right places 😊
When I was close to 6 months pregnant, I was bored of the advices from all directions and just wanted to go to some place and relax 😊 Since we couldnt drive much at that point, we thought of going to some resort closeby and spend a day.
Kolar has a resort called - Sylvain Villa Resort.. not one bit interesting 😞 Go there only and only if you want to see the beautiful Kotti Lingeshwara temple (1000 shiva lingas in one place). We went to Kolar just to relax but ended up going to this wonderful temple and got back.. somehow.. at least something turned out to be good 😊
Dec: 2007's annual shutdown.. and we didnt want to miss it just because I was pregnant. Moreover my doctor told me that I was fine to
travel as long as I took sufficient breaks.. so we decided to go to "Chikmagalur". I woudnt say it was a trip to Chikmagalur.. it was more a trip to Eagle Eye Resorts.. a fantastic resort near Chikmagalur. This resort is on top of a hill and in between coffee plantations.. a must visit resort!!! You can trek, fish, shoot, swim, eat wonderful food, play sporty games, party all night in front of the bonfire and do a whole lot!!! Really loved the place! On the way back we also went to Belur and Halebid as I hardly remembered what I had seen during our school excursions 😊 Perfect vacation .. not tiring.. not hectic.. just right for me at the state 😊
2008 Dec: Vedh was born on March 31st 2008 and we hardly realised how time flew after that. We only realised that it was time for our next vacation when it was December and we got our next round of holidays.. Vedh was just 9 months but was an awesome kid traveller 😊 He cutely slept for 11 hours all the way and back in the car on our trip to Thalassery and made my
life so easy. There is this superb beach in Thalassery where we can drive through the beach.. the 3 of us drove for hours there 😊 from sunrise to sunset as anyway in the heat we couldnt do too many other things 😊 We also loved the Mascot resort food and cold coffees. This vacation was a totally different experience as the only thing on our mind was comforting Vedh. We then decided that our next few vacations should only be with more people or after Vedh grows more 😊
2009 Sept: And hence... we waited till he was 1.5 years for our next trip. Now he was big enough to understand what we were upto and thus we all could enjoy the trip. The trip was to the Golden Triangle- Delhi, Jaipur and Agra with Amma and Appa as well. In Delhi all that we did was just shop as all of us had seen enough of the place and were not interested any more 😊 Jaipur was beautiful... such a colorful place and sooo much to see and experience. The forts, palaces, lakes, shops, and people are absolutely amazing. A place which every Indian must
see!!
And.. Agra.. what can I say.... spectacular!! We stayed at a hotel which was a stones throw from the Taj Mahal. We spent close to 5 hours inside the Taj and didnt even realise how time flew.. Awesome!!
Dec: And... finally... my last trip (until today).. our trip with the REC gang to Mahabalipuram and Pondicherry. We again had a whole week in Dec and now being parents of a little brat, we thought we would be better off going with other parents 😊. Sea Breeze Resort at Mahabalipuram was out of the world.. a wonderful place.. but Pondi was a bit disappointing.. its not fair to blame the place.. its probably the role in my life now... MOTHER!!!
Anyhow now that Vedh has grown, I am eagerly awaiting our next trip.. most probably Khandala.. as per today's plans 😊 Lets see...
