After our weekly test, I met up with Tony my friend from that magical summer at the institution formerly known as the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center! We walked around Peking University(北京大学), took a quick look at the Summer Palace (颐和园)and then we went out for hot pot aka 火锅 aka HUO GUO!!! with my language tutor Shuo.

We were like wow it is a big world and Beijing is a big city, it's kind of amazing we are able to meet up again. He just came from spending a year in Qatar and is off to Stanford for his physics Ph.D. in the fall.

I came across your blog accidentally, but really enjoyed it. I haven't been to China yet, but I think it will be my next trip, as I've always wanted to go. My blog is looking for travel photos, new foods (like if there's anything uniquely Chinese that you've experienced and would like to share!?), etc. If you have the time, check it out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com, or email me at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com. Continued fun on your travels! Heather
