We only had one class today and decided to spend the day hiking. There's a mountain on campus that we had a little bit of trouble finding the entrance to, but eventually found it and began our ascent. The first mountain had a path made completely of steps and then another path that was a switchback up the mountain. The two crossed paths a lot so I met up with my buddies who were taking the stairs every couple minutes. We made it to the top of the first mountain, took some pictures, and continued on. We made it to the top of the next mountain, took pictures, and kept going. We basically continued this trend until we had to pay to keep hiking, so we turned around. We came back with the intention of playing some bottleball, but everyone was tired from the trek.

Later that night we decided to go to Carrefour to find some ingredients for our dinner on Sunday. Its called a "western supermarket" but in all honesty it was less western than Trust-Mart. There were many more Engrish/Chenglish photo opportunities and the only thing that I really found different was the "imported food" section. They

have the coolest shopping carts in China, you can push them any way you want. Sometimes you'll see Chinese people pushing their cart sideways down the aisles. The traffic in a supermarket is just as crazy as traffic at an intersection because the drivers are the same. The most fun thing we did at Carrefour was when we finally found an open space, we jumped in the shopping cart and started doing donuts.

We caught a cab back to Zhejiang university. I'm finally able to speak sufficient chinese to the taxi drivers for them to understand where I want to go. Cab rides are always a lot of fun because the driving is so crazy. There aren't any seatbelts in the back seat, the driver usually drives with one hand half on the wheel and half on the horn, and the other hand is half on the wheel half on the switch to turn on their bright lights. A lot of people in China drive with their brights on. Horns are used so often people just shake them off. The cab drivers that can do all of the above, weave through crazy China traffic, and talk on their cell phones at the same time are the ones we seem to keep coming across. We had a successful night and some fun exercise, so it was a good day. Mingtian Jian!
