Arrived in Bangkok on wednesday - hot sticky weather but transfer from airport to hotel was fairly seemless. Thought we would skip the taxi and get the bus. How hard can it be. Got dropped off in the road no idea where to go. Walked a bit until too hot then admitted defeat and got our 1st tuk tuk. Drove us in a circle and probably back to where we started to hotel. good.

Bangkok; so far not impressed - pollution, traffic, heat, sweat all run riot, not to mention the thousands of con artists and charlatans trying to get every one of your Baht - massive pain in the ass. Sometimes feels like you are just avoiding people to stop hassle and never get to where you were aiming.

In terms of sightseeing, despite the logistical nightmares of getting places, bargaining with drivers etc, things seem to pop out of nowhere. You are wandering around in a random street convinced you're in the wrong place and then things just appear out of nowhere.

Food has been ok on the whole, although again knowing where to go or who to listen to for advise is difficult. Fantastic views over the river at last nights venue but Milns could not handle the deep fried sea bass or its 100 garlic clove accompaniments!! Join tour tomorrow, looking forward to leaving Bangkok for our next destination.

P.S. Not that many lady boys spotted.
