And so we’ve come to the end of our travels for a while. We’ve been to some wonderful places and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Are we glad to be back? Yes, I think so - we’re keen to see family and friends and catch up on all that we’ve missed. We also need some time to relax and sleep - there was only one day in nearly 5 months that we’ve said ‘hell, let’s just do nothing today’ - and that was in Cairns because it was raining! Otherwise, we’ve been up and at’em every minute of every day, and as I said in Hong Kong, we were getting weary!
A final confession: all those months ago when we left home, I threw in a couple of light swimming towels. When on the road, John pointed out that his had a name tag sewn in ... Lizzie Baldwin! So Lizzie, if you’re reading this, apologies for any punishment you may have incurred for loss of towel, and Jane, sorry for any costs replacing said towel! Having said that, I have to say that Lizzie Baldwin has had a lovely time with us - she has been across some wonderful countries, been on some fairly exotic beaches, and I have to say was the first to wrap herself round John when he’d been swimming with dolphins. She has been really well treated, and always referred to by name! Now the confession is not so much the acquisition of Lizzie Baldwin, but more that we have left her travelling as she was having such a good time ... (helped with the weight allowance too!)
So a final fond farewell and some thanks - thanks to BT for allowing us the opportunity (and my long-suffering boss for signing it off!), to friends and family for their support, to everyone we’ve met along the way and put up with us (or put us up!), to you, Dear Reader (or Picture Looker if you’re Paul), for sticking with us and for all the messages and comments on the Blog (we have read and appreciated every one) ... and finally to John, for putting up with me and taking my teasing in good humour (I noticed he had a grey hair today - he said he was surprised there was only one after 5 months with me!) ...
...and now off to Twickenham for a weekend of rugby...!

Welcome back
It has been fascinating reading - I wonder if you enjoyed writing it as much as we enjoyed reading it ! It would be good to see the fabrics Val and I would love to understand how patience was achieved whilst the selection was being made. Anyway, have a good rest and keep in touch !
