Typical "Queenslander" in Charleville Dear Family & Friends
As I think we mentioned we decided to spend an extra day in Longreach as there is so much to see and do. Spent 2 1/2 hours at the Qantas Museum which was excellent.. even did the "wing walk"...just great.
Caravan Park put on a meal and entertainment prior to the State of Origin (Qld v NSW) which was a real "hoot" The locals are really passionate about their game.
Our next overnight stop was Kynuna...stopped for lunch at Winton (which is actually where Qantas was born) gorgeous place regret time did not allow us to explore further. Arrived at the Kynuna Roadhouse... which was established in the 1860's as a staging point for Cobb & Co coaches. Located in the middle of nowhere... facilities pretty rough... we managed to score the last powered site.. the pub has to be seen to be believed (we just love these places, if only the walls could talk). Our dinner companions where a couple from WA.. Retired Station owners who are friends of the famous Durack family... a most interesting couple.
Arrived here at Mt Isa around 1.pm and once again scored the last powered site... these

Stockman's Museum, Longreach places are all booked out very early in the day.
Unfortunately didn't have much of a chance to have a good look around as it has been raining quite heavily..made things a little difficult cooking dinner.. however we managed. Our little Tvan is keeping us dry and cosy.
Not sure when our next communication will be... we are heading to small remote locations on our way to Daly Waters where we hope to have internet access.
Until then...
Kath & Henry.
PS. We are still endeavouring to attach photos.

Greetings
Hi there Kath and Henry, (I dont know if you have received this message twice - never mind). You seem to have travelled so far in such a short time. Cattleman's Hall of Fame and Longreach always fascinated me - the home of the flying kangaroo! Thanks for the photos - take a picture of the little van so that I can see what you are talking about. Take care and keep 'em coming. Love Loretta
