Ok sorry for not blogging very much recently but I haven't had internet since i got in Cusco until today. The last day in Lima, however, we went on a bus tour of the city. It was very fun, and later we went back to the hotel to pack for our trip to Cusco. We left for the airport in Lima at 3:30 in the morning and arrived in Cusco at about 8 in the morning. My host dad Carlo Silva Yobar picked me up from the airport and we went back to the house. After that I slept for about 2 hours and then went with Carlo to see a little bit of the city and had lunch. We also bought some supplies for school and a prepaid phone for me to use while in Cusco. After that we met with the rest of the group at the ISA office here in Cusco and went on a short walking tour of Cusco. When we returned to the office I met my host mom Patricia and we walked around a bit and they introduced me to their nephew Rudy. Later we went to the supermarket and bought some things that we will need and went back to the house and Rudy came over for supper. I had a really bad headache and wasn't hungry so I just drank some meta de coca and after that went to bed. This morning I woke up at 6 to eat with my family and then I went with "Papa Silva" to see the cathedral that they attend and went to the ISA office to take a more detailed walking tour to see the Centro de Bartolome De Las Casas, which is one of the buildings I will have class in and then we went to the Centro Tinku, which is where my other class is. After that we go lunch and then had some orientation for Cusco. After the orientation was over I returned to my house to go and eat with my familia and met the neice of my "Padres Cusqueños." About an hour or so later we left to go it Chifa, which is basically Chinese food with a little Peruvian mix. Then we returned back to the house and celebrated the birthday of my "Abuelita" (Carlo's mother). After that we just sat around the table and talked about a lot of different things. Tomorrow I start classes and then Saturday we go to Machu Picchu and return on Sunday. I'll try and post about that as soon as possible.

Cusco
Congratulations, Joey. Where does your host family live? I've stayed at the Centro Bartolome de las Casas twice and the Avenida Tullumayo is super steep. In a few days it won't seem that bad once you get acclimated. Chifa is great, isn't it? Enjoy your trip to Machu Picchu. Make sure you have extra batteries for your camera.
