our hostel room. A 3 person room that we got to ourselves. Hey!
Its been a little while since I've posted a blog, but fear not...Lisbon (our current location) is nice, but not too busy, so I will be able to catch up soon.
So after enjoying the big city of Paris, we took off on an evening train to San Sebastian. Its amazing after being in Paris seeing how much the locals can make or break your experience. Amit and I arrived and could tell the difference within minutes. First of all, the owner/proprietor kept his office open late to wait for us to arrive. Normally closing at 10pm, he stayed until near midnight to wait for us to arrive. Also, thanks to us taking a left instead of a right out of the train station we were totally lost. While wandering with a fellow from Brazil we met on the train, we managed to be so lost, we were off the map! Again, thanks to locals we were pointed in the right direction and even to a bus/taxi station nearby. The people were so nice and actually approached us asking if we needed help, we didn't even have to ask. What a welcome change from Paris (no offence parisans,

An afternoon having a drink in the main square "Constitution Plaza" but seriously...)!
Anyways, once we got grounded that night, we managed to sit and grab a much needed beer. The town is right on the water with a beautiful beach. Unfortunately the weather didn't quite permit us to sit on the beach. No big deal though, atleast it was warmer than Paris. Our hostel was in an awesome location, and was actually close to the big town square where everyone met and had drinks. It happened to be one of the oldest streets in the city. It was pretty cool that they don't allow buses or taxis in the area we stayed...called the "old city"
The spanish lifestyle is something we definitely both fell in love with. What I mean by that is stores/office opening at 10am, siestas, tapas bars and a general feeling that nothing in life needs to be rushed.
Amit and I spent our days in San Sebastian just wandering around the streets, sitting down for beers and generally taking it easy. It was definitely a welcome pace from the days in Paris and London. Ha ha, I guess if touring London and Paris forces you to need a break, we must be leading

and again... a good life. Thanks to our spending habits thus far, we have been nicely under budget. On our last night in San Sebastian, we sat down for a really nice/expensive dinner with a fixed menu. The food was awesome, and in general, was the best we've had so far. The chirizo and smoke ham was so amazing. Anything we could find...omlettes, sandwiches, etc that had these meats in it, we had it.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy the pictures...for the most part they are just scenic pictures of the area. We tried day and night pictures, so hopefully they turn out allllright.
I hope everyone is doing well back in Canada.
Congrats to the Blackhawks (Braydon) and Montreal (Dad)! Although I am happy, the thought of New York being in Montreal's place haunts me most nights.
Take Care and expect a Madrid update soon as well!
