Silk Worms!
Yuck! Tastes like dirt First week in S. Korea! Just getting settled in and used to my new job. We went out with our adult students friday night. I had a lot of fun hanging with them and getting to know them better.
Sautrday, we headed out of town to a small town named Gimje. I got to see a 1200 year old Buddhist temple. Snapped a pic of a Buddhist monk chanting his prayers. I enjoyed seeing a monk in person. After checking out all the temples, we headed up the mountain. Everything was so green and beautiful. It is very common for Koreans to be buried in the mountains. Since they don't have grave markers, they indicate a grave with a mound of earth. Many families were having picnics by the graves of their deceased family. I could see many buddhist temples along the mountain-can't wait to check them all out.
Sunday, I got to hang out with a new friend and go to the traditional Hanok village. Jeonju is known for it's bibimbop-a veggie rice dish. It was really good. Jeonju's traditional village is the only one in Korea were people still live within the village. Thanks Jen for showing
me around!
