Okay so its a lovely day in Auckland today - I decide to go to the Zoo with my camera to try ad improve my animal photography. I have been to the Auckland Zoo a few times - I love spending time with the tigers & the Orangutans the most. I also love the Pridelands area where all the African amimals are. The hippos were fun as well - besides the fact that they were really smelly they put on quite the show, rolling around in the water, coming up close to the observatory deck and generally having fun. Normally the amimals just enjoy sleeping during the day and there is little activity. My favourite tigers were just sleeping but I sat around hoping for some action - suddenly the tigers seemed to be sniffing and air and jumped into action, a minute late someone is walking by the tiger enclosure with a pig on a leash, the tigers seemed to have smelled the pig long before we saw it and jumped into action. They were running around like crazy and displaying their massive bone crushing teeth.

There wasnt much action in the Orangutan enclosure as they were enjoying lazying around in the sun with sheets to cover themselves from the obnoxious cameras :D

I also enjoyed spending time with the Cotton-Top Tamarins, the Golden-Lion Tamarin, Meercats, Giraffes, Zebras, Rhinos & Sea-Lions.

Overally it was an awesome day - the skies were blue, I got some satisfactory pics & spend around 4hrs with the amimals.
