Stuck in Berlin

Hi everyone,

a quick update... So i went from Vienna to Prague and then up to Berlin where i am now. I wasn´t planning on staying 4 nights here but that´s what has happened. Partly because of the Volcano in Iceland that has grounded all planes hence causing all trains to be booked out... but the other reason is because i met some guys from France and some guys and gals from Sweden and have been hanging out with them.

The dark history here is so interesting. I have been doing walking tours which have been awesome - i have learnt so much and seen so much... the Berlin wall (whats left of it), brandenberg gate, check point charlie, hitlers bunker, the jewish memorial, reichstag, the book burning memorial and i also went to the Stasi Museum which was so psycho!!! The museum is actually in the Stasi haus - where the stasi operated from. Ill make sure i put photos up when i get a chance (maybe when i get to Madrid and can use a friends computer) as i cant do it on these shared hostel computers.

Im still missing everyone in Aus and im also missing the warm weather - although the last couple of days havent been too cold here and the sun has been out most of the time which has been good. But yeah, thats why im heading to Spain... i need some sun... i need to walk around in thongs and boardshorts again! Plus i want to start up learning spanish asap.

So, yeah, i miss all of you, but again, im doing you all proud over here. Thanks so much to everyone for sending there best wishes and for all the support. Ill get back to you again soon hopefully.

Timothy!! Loving the blogs mate. Wow sounds like u are having an absolute ball!!! love the hang time u got snowboarding!! So spain is next eh?? hopefully u get there soon. bit of a shit fight with the iceland volcanoes etc. Make sure u get to Ibiza. Nightclub party central so i've heard. Jo used to work for a spanish company and one of the guys from another division based in Barcelona came to oz and he had dinner with him. He said Ibiza is the place to go. he said to me if i ever go, make sure u go by urself and not with ur partner. hahahaha so i think ur in the right setting get around by urself. anyways enjoy, stay safe and look forward to reading the next installments of ur great adventure!! Gee Tim, About time you got some history into you. Of course history really comes alive when you actually see the what and the where. When you return you are sitting down and watching 'The Lives of Others'... no ifs or buts.. After seeing Berlin etc.. the movie will really mean something to you. Hey buddy, You like the pic hey... well, lets just say my bum wasnt feeling the best post photo. Thanks for the info... im planning on going to Barcelona and Valancia but im not sure if ill get to Ibiza... we´ll see. Im in Madrid now and it´s awesome here. Im staying with a friend of my brother in law... ive been able to do heaps of things that the locals do, i.e. drinking vino tinto and cervezas and eating tapas in these cool little bars! Congratulations on being a dad mate!!
