On Friday we left Alicante and headed inland to Granada. Parts of the drive were absolutlely stunning as we drove passed a few national parks and snow covered mountains. We arrived in Granada which has a stunning backdrop of the Sierra Nevada and the famous Alhambra. It's been extremely busy here because it's easter weekend and of course there have been more processions!

After braving the narrow streets of the Alhambra to get to our hotel we met up with Kate, Keith and Ameilia who luckily were spending the weekend in Granada too! We went tapas hopping. It as great to see KK&A again and be looked after by them by speaking spanish for us! We had some awesome tapas and sangrias and found some really nice bars. Unfortunately after a late night (in aussie terms) we had to queue for Alhambra tickets early the next morning! We didn't want to miss out so queued up from 5:30 am and we weren't the first there! We got tickets just after 8 and spent the afternoon wandering around the Alhambra with KK&A. The Alhambra is an amazing place, there are three main areas, the Alcazaba (The fortrose from the 11th - 13th centuries), the Placio Nazaries (The Nazrid palace built for the Musilm rulers during the 13th - 15th centuries) and the Generalife (Palace gardens). The views from the Alcazaba towers and the architecture of the palaces we're stunning! It is a really magical place and well worth waiting in the ticket queue in the cold! note to any future travellers - prebook your tickets early (they were sold out when we tried)!

We said our goodbyes KK&A until they're back in Oz. We were so lucky to spend some time with them in Spain and had a ball! Thanks!

Last night (after a much needed nap) we went to a lookout and took in the stunning view of the snowy mountains in the Sierra Nevada, Granada and a beauiful sunset. Unfortunately the camera batteries were flat all of the Alhambra picture taking!

Today we're going to head up to the Sierra Nevada and then to Cordoba for couple of nights. Ciao for now!

Hello hello!!
Hey there you two! Well it looks like you are having the most amazing time! All your pictures are beautiful! It makes me wish I wasn't being a big nerd studying and could be having some exciting adventures overseas too! You have done so much already, I am very envious!! All the scenery and places just look so magnificent. How has all the driving been going? Nathan was just saying the other day how good all the roads in Spain are, nice 4 way lanes apparently! We had a little road trip up to Mackay on the weekend and the roads were so bad, I don't think I'll be driving on them again anytime soon! Easter sounds exciting over there as well, I think I would like to time a trip to Spain just for that french toast!! It would of been lovely to spend all that time with Keith, Kate and Millie as well, especially with them being able to speak Spanish! I'm starting my prac next week at Taranganba, I have a double Year 5 class! I'm very excited though, but there is just a ridiculous amount of work to do! Oh well, I'm counting down the weeks to go, and there is only 27 left!! Whoop Whoop! Anyway, its been great to see all your pics and read your stories! Lots of love Tobey xx

Amazing photos
The boys been reading the blog at work and Mark C commented he should be setting up a travel blog like yours to brag about his US tour. The photography is simply amazing! How can you take such great photos by just putting the camera up in the air at arms length and take a photo? enjoy.
