Hello from Edinburgh! Arrived in the City on Friday afternoon to a wet, blustery day. Got out my trust umbrella and proceeded to drag my gigantic bag up the cobble roads trying to find my hostel. At one point I stopped to put my gloves on and had my open umbrella in the cruck of my arm when a huge gust of wind came through took my umbrella with it.....it proceeded to blow across the road, hit 2 cars, 1 pedestrian and then finally someone stopped it for me.
I didn't have alot of time here so I really only managed to visit Edinburgh Castle which took most of the day on Saturday (after a leisurely breakfast and walk around the city), as well as the Palace of Hollyroodhouse, the official residence of the Queen in Edinburgh as well as the former residence of Mary Queen of Scots. Both were very interesting and pretty. I met some people at the hostel and went out with them on Saturday night....one of them had the last name Keith and he had a tatoo of his clan on his back....you can see from the picture that if he were in Canada we would
say that he has a beer logo tatooed on his back...as in Alexander Keith's!
Sunday afternoon I hopped back on the train and headed for Kendal, located at the gateway to the Lake District, in Cumbria to start my upholstery course on Monday morning.
