Hello everyone!
We are currently in Ao Nang which is a small town on the south west coast of Thailand, near Krabi.
We are staying in a hostel called Laughing Gecko (after the geckos we live with laugh - literally!) which is run by a family who are lovely. The accommodation is a bit sketchy to say the least. For a start we have no flush on the toilet so you have to use a bucket to wash away excrement!!!! Our house is made from bamboo with walls that dont meet the roof, no windows or lock. However there are 2 fans which continue allowing us to sweat throughout the day and nite. BUT we are loving slumming it!
We are really enjoying ourselves here! We have been spending the majority of the days on the beach and night times partying with the locals. The other day we went on a boat trip to 4 small islands and went snorkelling which was really cool. One of the islands was called chicken island - however we could see no resemblance! The sea on our beach is so warm - we think it must be at least 20 degrees! The water is really shallow, you have to walk 1km before its deep enough to swim. It sort of feels like you're walking on water! Me (Megan) and Hannah both got nipped by crabs today whilst swimming. We very much failed at not over-reacting.
In the bar around the corner from us, which is called Hippies, they do a fire show every night which is really cool to see. We have yet to perform ourselves but maybe tonight will be the night!
We're moving on to Koh Phangan on Friday (i think) for the Full Moon Party which we are all really excited about as we have heard lots about it!
Much love - peace out! x x x
