Our continuing journey to Koh Tao was nothing less than an adventure! It started off on an air-con sleeper on the train. After reaching our destination of Chumphon three hours late, we decided it was too late to get a guesthouse, so we saw some street people sleeping in station by the track, and we laid right down beside them. After a few hours on a hard bench, we caught a minibus to the morning boat for three hours and then a truck to our scuba diving location on the south tip of Koh Tao!

It's a beautiful beach, bungalow and scuba shop called Taa Toh Lagoon. It is situated a little out of town so we are not subjected to the chaotic state that Koh Tao has become! Every day we have access to a perfect beach, hammocks, scuba diving, restaurant, and snorkling right on our doorstep. Its absolutely paradise!!

Matt and I did our open water four-day dive course with a Thai instructor. In total we have already sqeezed in six dives each while dad has already done ten! The water here is wonderfully clear and all it takes is a long-tail boatride out to the dive boat and then you are immersed in a world of beautiful different types of fish and colourful coral!

We went to a Thai boxing tournament. For someone who doesn't even appreacate violence, I was surprisingly entertained! It is fighting with dignity...although I did watch a seven year old knock another seven year old out. The spectators also added a lot to the whole experience because with every knee, elbow, kick, etc. there would be screams from the crowd....so entertaining!!

Despite the terrible dirt roads here, we have rented a motorbike and have been exploring the island through the narrow alleyways and travelers' ghettos. We also have grown to love the pancake man who will whip you up anything from a banana chocolate, to an apple cinnamon pancake with amazing skill that looks like some kind of dance. Both entertaining and delicious!

Now that we are done with scuba diving we will probably be moving on to Koh Pha Ngan for a few days to enjoy another relaxing beach scene!!!

Question
Hi Erika, I'm visiting Ko Tao next month and I am just wondering what is the name of the bungalow complex you stayed at?
