Do I have it in me? Currently I feel like I have no energy or enthusiasm to tell you about the past few days... Was is wonderful? YES! Although after spending 12 hours in transit the polish has rubbed off and I´m feeling a little less than fresh and excited after todays events.

TRAVELLERS LESSON # 6: Patience is a virtue. Today Emily and I were keen to move on from Peru, after a few too many days in the same spot it started to become a little stale and no amount of massages and pedicures and manicures or hours in our window seat reading novels could keep us satisfied in the end. It was a haven, the last 3 days spent like Queens in our upgraded luxury suite doing absolutely nothing except spoiling ourselves and shopping - but time began to slow down too much and this morning we didn´t mind the familiar scream of the alarm to get us up and into action for our new adventures.

Unfortunately regardless of how organised we are, we have realised that there is no guarentee that we will get to where we want on time. Our flight from Cusco to Lima went smoothly enough - beside the daylight robbery of having to pay an Airport departure tax for a connecting flight (Thanks to Darren, our hopeless travel agent who said this was included in our ticket - love your work). We borded our Flight from Lima to La Paz on time and we´re hopefull about an early arrival. The thing is now that we are in South America, English is obviously not the first language so the annoucements on the plane came firstly and clearly in Spanish, followed by a quiter mumble through the english version of the annoucements. Not to worry, nothing important to be said i´m sure - until we wake from a light sleep and realise that we are in Santa Cruz. The unimportant annoucement had apparently expressed that La Paz airport was closed and we now had to wait until further notice as to when we would be able to attempt landing there (Damn thy wet season and your horrendous rain).

Really we didn´t mind too much, we actually really enjoy sitting on a plane with a temperature of 30 degrees, the body odour really creates such an exotic atmoshpere. Em and I were impressed by our ability to stare at each other and convey such hate and irritation of aiports and flying with just our eyes. I love being seated for the majority of my adult life, the sensation it creates in my legs is such a pleasant feeling that I wish i could do it all day everyday. I no longer feel the need to breathe fresh air because stale dry airconditioning is so much more satisfying, it warms me all over when my body starts to dry up and I slowly mutate into a zombie.

We have finally made it in the end, a trip that was to take 4 hours has managed to take over 12... but patience was more a survival instinct rather than a choice. Tomorrow we are leaving early to go Copacabana for 2 nights before we return to this crazy city for more excellent adventures. Next time I blog, I will try my hardest not to sound as bitter as I have just now... perhaps I can restore my polish with just one more $6 massage.

Hope everyone back home is all good and o.k and having a fine ole dandy time in my absence, enjoy it because we are just about half way through the trip now!!!
