Salsa Brava - Purto Viejo
Well after leaving Purto Viejo on the Cariibean coast on Tuesday we made our way by bus, taxi, bus, ferry, bus, taxi to the Pacific Coast and a place called Malpais. 12 hour journey coast to coast althought if the roads were better would be a hell of a lot quicker - most are even worse than our driveway at home after a cyclone has been through! Potholes the size of small craters - some enought to lose half a bus in! All adds to teh adventure I guess - but try telling our butts that after 12 hours!

Since we have been here the weather has been the stunning the beaches more like what we were expecting - beautiful, long and white with consistent and better than average surf - good out back for Mike and great for me as the waves just roll and roll on in for me.

We are staying at a great place - costing us a little more then Puerto Viejo but with more facilities available to us. We are probably going to be leaving here on Sunday and doing another days mission to Nicaragua - bus, ferry, bus, border crossing, bus and

Manzanillo - biked 12kms here and then mike went for a surf after a walk through some jungle
taxi!

We have decided that we are going to head up there and go to Spanish school. For all of you who told us Spanish would be helpful - you are dead right - we have learnt a bit so far but with South America to come we have decided we need a bit more!

Anyhow all good here - met some great people so far and our culinary skills are being tested especially when we go shopping for dinner and cant read half the labels - have ended up with some very interesting meals!!!

Hope all is well back home with everyone (NZ and Perth)!!!
Ding did you get the job???

Mum and Dad how are things - Dad hope you are well and taking it easy!! Missing you all heaps!!

To everyone else we hope all is well - wishing you were with us as this place is pretty damn nice!!

Take care and hope to hear from you soon - sorry I havent replied to some of your individual emails - computer is slow and THE WAVES ARE CALLING!!!

Love lots and miss you all heaps
