here's a wee update for a wee bit of entertainment. see, we've discovered that "wee" is used as commonly as "a" or "an" in the scotish dialect. naturally, tony has taken upon himself to have a true scotish accent by friday. best of luck to him.
we could not have asked for a better trip so far. our jet lag has been minimal and our days spectacular. thanks to tony's friend in london, anthony, we toured london and saw all of the sights and not-so-touristy sights within two days. the weather has been colder then we expected but we've made due and persevered through the chilly wind and 5 degree celsius air. you can bet we make frequent stops for hot coffee and hot chocolate to heat up our insides. we even managed to see a man limbo under a stick that rested on two wine bottles just a little over a foot off the ground. we were in awe.
by monday we were off to scotland. unbenounce to us we arrived on janet fishlock's birthday and so showered and prepared to go out to dinner in downtown glasgow. did i mention we arrived to snow? we did indeed. more snow then they've seen in a few years - how do i manage to bring that out in places?
tuesday we were hitting the road to see all of scotland in just four days. we went to sterling to stand amazed at the william wallace monument and can i just say....we know more, after a few days traveling in scotland, about scotish history then we do american....it's true. yesterday tony and i ventured off to edinburgh and are still talking about it. we have taken 300 pictures but every time i turn it is like a whole frame-worthy city. but with all the pictures you see from everyone else, you just have to go. the edinburgh castle kept us occupied for most of the morning as we gaucked at the crown jewels and felt chills in the dungeons deep below. history was oozing from each crack in the stone walls and we both agreed it was one of the most impressing things we have ever seen.
we ventured up and down the streets of edinburgh the rest of the day and had the pleasure of a wee scotish man that reminded us of bilbo baggins from lord of the rings, that sat and talked to us the whole hour long train ride home. we understood about 2/3 of what he said but began to laugh when he did and guessed the rest of the time.
well all, this is getting quite lengthy. we are loving every second and so far don't think it could've gone better. one more thing - our first night at the hostel we met a bunch of christians that we'll be going to visit in ireland on saturday. alright, well there are 10 pictures on photobucket website so check them out. in them you'll see us wearing jackets we picked up at a second-hand store for about 6 dollars....we were very excited.
until next time.
