snow and flights and photos

Update from Houston and photos from Bridal Cave and the last few days in the States...

So yesterday Dad drove us up to St.Louis to stay in a hotel, as snow was coming. We got a swank suite, thanks to my government ID and status as a PCV, so that was nice. Then at like 9:30 my mom called and said American Airlines called and our first flight (to Chicago) was cancelled.

Thus ensued a lot of calls and being put on hold.

After a few hours of this, while the snow built up, finally got through to Continental and exed out the Chicago American Air flight and ended up here in Houston at like 11am. Our flight isn't until 5:45 pm, so we have like a 6 hour wait here.

We sat. We ate. Now I found wireless and an outlet and we are chilling. Lenin is out and about exploring what E gate in Houston has to offer, and I want the camera to put the photos on here .

Blah blah.

Anyway get in late tonight after 9pm, get a taxi and go to the hostel to sleep, and take another taxi tomorrow to the bus and get back to Moropoto tomorrow afternoon.

More blogging later when I can digest what has happend the past couple of weeks.

Been trying to call you on your Nica phone during your long layover in TX, but guess it can't work this way. :( Dad went ahead and opened your pics from Kodak. WOW! They are just terrific! Yes, hadn't seen the "ice" ones yet -- TOO FUN. Also, short calls this AM from Lenin's Dad and from Tia Leo. Your Dad answered Lenin's Dad's call; I talked briefly with Tia Leo. Both just wanted to know that you guys were OK and that everything was going as planned. Since your arrival time is still the same as originally planned, I just said that it was still good. Also, Favarisio (?? - you understand), called to check on things and try to repay me for postage. I won. Ha! Your plane should take off in, like, 8 minutes. Hope you'll have a good and safe flight! Well, your Dad was right, as usual. We have gotten snow. Was just beautiful until the strong winds kicked up again. Is to clear off in a day or 2 and we're to have record lows with the clear skies. Brrrr. Thanks for both of your helping with the snow and the wood and all!

Awww hope you both make it back safely, I love all your photos and do you find it weird I still have not been to bridal cave??? So jealous I have to go!!

glad you had a good flight without too much hassle, we were worried. As it turns out we will be in San Carlos, Nica next week. Our neighbors have been wanting to go, so... We will try to make connection for the early April öuting¨" It looks like fun will tell you more next week
