Last Day in Costa Rica

Walt and I woke up this morning and went to get our ticket from the bus station - bus was leaving at noon but we had to check out of hostel at 11. They said we were free to stay and use the facilities so we swam one last time then showered, checked out, and read my book by the pool... again. Love it.

We caught our bus to San Jose (which is about 4 hours from Quepos) but we had read in our Survival Manual from the hostel that the bus will actually stop at the airport and then it's just a quick taxi ride to nearby hostels in Alajuela, as the airport is actually in Alajuela and NOT San Jose. This was nice to discover, as it would save us the $20 taxi in the morning before our flight.

We found a cute little place called "Charlie's Place" that is about 5 minutes from the airport, has free internet, free breakfast buffet, free transport to the airport, a double room with private bathroom and TV with cable (first time on the trip Walt and I have had either a private bath or TV) all for $34.
***Added later: The airport transport is NOT free. We had to pay $7 to the hostel, then $6 to the airport the next day. I asked about why it was advertised otherwise on the website and they said only in January???***

It's a nice little place with a quiet and cozy atmosphere.
***Added later: it's actually quite noisy where we had our room. We could hear people's alarms going off and people talking in the breakfast area behind our room ALL night as people left for their flights***

The plan is to go check out the town a bit, get something to eat, and then relax one final night in Costa Rica before our 2:30 flight tomorrow afternoon.
We'll miss Costa Rica. It's been fun.
