Hey there,
Im a 26 y/o male travelling to the UK in May/ June 2010. I will be there for 5 weeks but have planned to see family and friends in England for 3 weeks (as well as 1 week in Holland to see a cousin).
My interests include maybe a tour (shamrocker), visiting pubs, countryside, history, photo opportunities etc..
I have 7 days up my sleave that i dont have anything planned. Without going right into Western Europe, my thoughts were to keep it nice and close and visit Scotland or Ireland for a week but only have enought time for one country.
So here is my question: I have 7 days spare whilst in UK, do i spend the time visiting Scotland or Ireland?
Any help/ tips as well as the pros and cons for each would be great as im finding it really hard to decide.
Thanks,

Go to the Orkneys!
Go to the Orkney's, they are of great archaeological importance, so if you enjoy history and want to see a remarkable neolithic village, make sure to venture to these small islands. For example, you should see Skara Brae, it is one such village. Just a suggestion!
