In this picture perfect anchorage we can look but not land, since our gracious host is the military.

This artistic old wreck probably still serves a useful purpose.

A half dozen cruisers slipped into this rare, ICW deep anchorage around 3 pm, avoiding night travel and will mostly leave at first light.

The temperature outside is in the low 30's but we're ending our day with a fire in the Ulefos woodstove(wood provided by Chuck of Oriental) and giant pecans picked fromthe sidewalk. The green pecan still has it's outside shell on.

Safe voyage
Chris and Frank, it was so enjoyable to spend some time with you in Oriental! I have been following your journey and wil continue to do so. Frank, once I get my Christmas gifts finished, I will turn my attention to the pin and block wood prototype. Safe voyage to you...

Hope you are doing well and going slowly. We sure enjoyed meeting you and getting to know you, Ginger, and your wonderful boat. Hope to meet up with you down the road some time. We're hauled in Beaufort up Adams Creek. Funky place and we're getting our work done. We leave for Colorado in one week! Jay and Mary Lou

Thanks John
Sorry I haven't responded earlier. We've had to stop at Carolina Beach, NC for the next 2 weeks, so we'll have more time for a good email discussion. If we're not too far away maybe you and Bama could visit. Take care. F

Aloha
Doesn't that mean "See you in Hawaii?" We really enjoyed our impromtu dockside holiday with you at Moorhead City. Since then Frank whacked his heel in the anchor winch. We were literally grounded and are now safely docked for a couple of weeks at gorgeous place in Carolina Beach. The people are terrific and we couldn't have a better place to be 'grounded'. Good luck with your chores and happy holiday in Colorado. Maybe Santa will have a nice dobro over there!
