Pit stop Hong Kong!

I was very excited to arrive into Hung Hom station and be back in Hong Kong...only to be disappointed that the toilet was still a hole in the floor - I thought I was done with them having left the mainland! Ben and I had to stop in Hong Kong in order to get a Russian visa....and it was also a good excuse to stop by and catch up with all our friends and enjoy our favourite things in Hong Kong once again!

I had a lovely stay in Sai Kung with friends and fully indulged in all my favourite things, and saw lots of people...basically not being a traveler for ten days! I was so happy to have a handbag and not a backpack, to wear make up, and NOT to wear a money belt! Here are some of my favourite things from my ten days of not being a traveler, and things I missed from Hong Kong...

Not picking up a rucksack for ten days,
Carrying a normal handbag,
Sleeping in a double bed,
Watching Television,
Listening to music,
Coffee with friends,
Visiting my favourite restaurants,
A night out in Lan Kwai Fong with friends,
Bread pudding at Simply life,
Knowing which buses to take,
Gossiping!!!
Lunches,
Going to the races at Happy Valley,
Shopping in Shenzhen,
Not obviously looking like a tourist,
Sushi,
Starbucks breakfast,
Taking taxis,
Shopping and not feeling guilty about it because I needed things,
Beautiful October sunshine,
Open air swimming pool,
Rooftop brunch,
Not needing a map to know where I am going,
Not having to barter for a price,
Knowing I am not being ripped off...

...and the list goes on! - I had a lovely ten days. It's always nice to be in Hong Kong without working as I usually am. Good news though... I managed to secure a job for January, so I am very happy to be going back!! I can see all my friends again, and carry on doing all the things I enjoy about life in Hong Kong!

After ten days of relaxation, plenty of gossip, and ticking off all the things on my to-do list and my shopping list, it was time for the next adventure! Hong Kong to London without an aeroplane. I'd be heading for Beijing, on to Mongolia, Russia and then Europe. First journey - a 25 hour train to Beijing!

Here goes....see you in January Hong Kong!
