Our Pink Boat, ready to cross the Lake to the Monteverde side
We left La Fortuna at 8am on Saturday morning, and caught a bus to the nearby lake. From there we caught a small boat across the Lake for an hour, which was a rally nice trip, and then another connecting bus waiting for us st the other side of the lake, all exclusively for us. Then it was a couple of hours drive to the town of Monteverde. We arrived at 1.30pm, so I went for lunch in a restaurant that has a tree in the middle of it, and then went back to the hotel for a well deserved Siesta! At 5.30pm we were picked up for our next excurision, a night time walk in The Hidden Valley Rainforest. As most Rainforest creatures are nocturnal, seeing them at night is a good way to see them! But of course the Rainforest has Snakes, and deadly Spiders!! Doh!

We ascended in to the dense jungle with our guide, armed with torches. The first thing we see is a small inocuous hole in the side of a bank. But we you crouch down and shine your torch in the hole, there is a big female muther Tarantuala!!! And I hate spiders!!!

Dont look if you're scared!!! I ran after this........
Its now dark, and Immediately there is an amzing sight of hundreds of Fireflies, lit up all around the Jungle. They are cool. We see a sleeping Sloth high up in a tree! A Viper snake was near, but it moved too quickly before we got to it. We mostly saw some sleeping birds, Tucans, A porcupine asleep in a tree, but on the whole we didnĀ“t catch too many other animals. However it was an amzing experience again, to be walking around a Rainforest at night, whilst its totally alive! We got but to the hotel, no bites, and had dinner, and then an early night.

Today is Sunday 5th March. We got up at 6am, and was picked up at 7am to be taken to another Rainforest, The Cloudforest. Here we just wondered around taking it all in, saw some exotic birds, and some amazing hummingbirds. It was a nice walk, and its just amazing to be in a Rainforest, and I'm lucky to be able to say I've now been in a few on this tour.

After lunch we were picked up to be taken to the next action adventure, Zip Lining! Zip Lines are

canopies and cables that are strung up high above the Rainforest, and 500 meters around it. You are attached to the lines by a harness, and then ride high above the forest and zoom down the lines, its exhilerating again! There are 15 lines/platforms in total, that have different speeds and lenghts. Some are huge and you get blown about in the wind, and you brake using your hand on the actual line, using protective gloves. There is a surprise at one point, you are attached to a Bungee rope, and Tarzan style launched off a platform and high in to the air, until you are caught by the instructors at the bottom, it was amazing!!! A really good afternoon, and a different experience, another one off the list!

After another action packed day, tonight we are heading out for a meal, as its our last night in Costa Rica (already, time is flying!). Tomorrow we cross over to Nicaragua, which is supposed to be a beautiful Country.

Onwards.....!!!!!
