We spent our last night in Japan watching the Scotland vs Japan football match at the Yokohama stadium. Won,t say anything about the result except dodgy linesman...
Had good fun with the Tartan Army and easily outsung the 60,000 Japanese fans. Top three football chants were:
1. You only sing Karaoke.
2. We,re here to save the whales.
3. We,re going to eat F#@!ing Sushi.

A few beers later we spent the night in a capsule hotel, see pics. We both enjoyed it but it was a bit like sleeping in a coffin.

After a couple of long days travelling through China we finally jumped on the plane to Australia and landed in Sydney. The first stop was the pretty Darling harbour where we met up with Stus Mum and Dad, Uncle Bill and Aunt Aileen. A bit weird to meet so far from home.
Next stop was the Sydney Harbour Bridge where we strapped on our Ghostbusters outfits (overalls, equipment belts, radios, helmets, headlights etc) and gradually climbed our way to the top. It was a beautiful clear night so the view of Sydney and the harbour were stunning though the high winds made it a bit hairy!

We had a more relaxed day on Wednesday down at the zoo, particularly enjoying the penguins and koalas. We,re hoping that we might see some in the wild during the next couple of weeks.

The next day was a bit of excitement. Barbara and Aileen had managed to arrange a cameo appearance for Bill on GMTV with Ben Shepherd to talk about the Masters games. They were fillming in Australia for the last few weeks. Bill had 2 silver medals at that point and with a couple of other athletes (and Stuarts Dad!) they were on live TV in front of 10M people. Very surreal!
We got to watch Bill win another silver medal the next day, very exciting but very nerve racking.

Well done Bill!!

On Saturday we got the call from the hangliding school that the wind was in the right direction and strength for us to jump of a cliff strapped to a kite....great! It was incredible and a very strange feeling. It almost felt like we were watching the amazing scenery on TV, it was so clear we could see the skyline of Sydney. Lisas tandem ride must have had
Sydney harbour bridge...Sydney harbour bridge...Sydney harbour bridge...

...not to be confused with Newcastle bridge, the original!
a death wish because he let her steer! Another great wedding present.

We left Sydney today and got the bus to Canberra, looking forward to some exploring.

Loads of love

I want to travel.....
Hello Loving reading all about your travels, its given me the bug again and I want to be on the road and not stuck in the office! After you and Margaret talking about the snow monkeys in Japan, I want to see them for real. Love your caption for the koala, think I wrote something similar in my scrapbook when I was in Oz. Love Amanda
