Here is our home away from home when we stay in Annapolis with Heidi & Mark
Well, we just got back from the Annapolis boat show that was held over Columbus Day weekend. It was great to be able to wear shorts and T-shirts again as it was getting to feel like fall at home, but was summer in Annapolis - quite a bonus! We went down prepared with a very long shopping list of things we wanted for Tsamaya. We spent Friday and Saturday doing all of the research and then Sunday was the day to actually commit and place the orders. It was definitely an expensive weekend but we are very happy with the items we decided on. A few of our big ticket items were new sails, a new refrigeration system, Honda generator, stabilizing binoculars, boom vang, companionway doors and plenty of other “smaller” items. It should be like Christmas soon as we will be having quite a few packages showing up in the next few weeks. Bob also got lots of information on the electrical system as well as what he needs to do to get the GPS and VHF to talk to each other. We now have plenty of projects to keep us busy during the winter months (as if we didn't already have enough with getting the house ready to sell!) We have to get up to the boat (she is on the hard now in Cayuga NY) to get some final measurements for some of the purchases. We definitely did our part to help the economy! Glad we were able to find a credit card that has 0% APR for a full 12 months which will really help!

One of the great things about going to Annapolis is that we stay with Heidi and Mark at their B&B, the Farmhouse. This is the 4th year we have been with them and it is very comfortable as we are made to feel like "family" They have heard about our boat and plans for all of these years and always seem to be excited to hear about our plans and what we find out at the show - always fun telling them about our day at the show each night - just like sharing with family! Another nice thing is that we get to meet other people staying at the B&B. This year we met again a great couple from Canada (Jacques and Lisa) that are in the market for a boat - we definitely hit it off with them and hopefully our paths will cross again sometime in the future. It is definitely a small world as we did run into a couple at the boat show, Paul and Deb, that we had shared a dock with when on vacation this summer in Ganonque in Canada. Great to see them again as well, again proving how small the world really is.

Well, now we are back in Trumansburg wearing our fleeces and thinking already of warmer weather - now to find the time to start on all of these projects. Will keep you posted as we make progress (or not) on the numerous projects.

Thanks for the economic boost!
What a wonderful way to spend the Columbus Day weekend! It sounds like you both have a lot of work to do now, but it obviously is a labor of love!
