Ate some breakfast at Uncle Boy's place before heading off on the bus to Rotorua. Another rainy day although we got a few moments of just cloudy skies. We stopped on the way at the big kiwi. Basically it's just a giant kiwi fruit haha. Meike and I got dropped off at our hostel and checked in. We are staying at a small hostel called Funky green backpackers. It's really nice and homey. We lucked out and got our room for a few nights at the same cost as a bigger dorm room. Yeah us!

We walked into town after dropping our stuff in the room and headed for the info centre. Had some lunch at a noodle place where we had to eat with chopsticks. I somehow managed! After that we headed to a piercing place called Skincraft. Meike really wanted to get a piercing in her ear up in the cartilage. So I helped her out with all my piercing knowledge haha, anyways she got pierced and I ended up finding some new earrings that I liked and got the piercer to take my old ones out. I now have earrings I can easily take out myself incase a job asks me to or anything. It was also about 3 times cheaper then I could find them in Canada.

Headed back to the hostel after going grocery shopping and just as it started to rain. We just chilled out at the hostel in the evening since we were so tired from our crappy night the night before!

Ear Ring
How about a close up of your new ear ring. Hope the rain clears up for you. It does put a damper on your activities and sight seeing. Great to talk to you on Thanksgiving. We missed you- and have saved you some turkey for your return to Canada!!!

Caves and Bunnies
Love those bunnies and bravo for doing the cave trek. Sounds awful actually. Funny what we will actually "pay for" to go through. hahaha Too bad you couldn't take photos down there. It was nice to chat with you last night, you sounded like you were next door. Tell me, do Newzealanders call themselves "kiwi's"? Is the fruit better there than imported ones here? Is it a multicultural community there? Good luck with job seeking. I hope you find something soon. Happy Thanksgiving Laurene, Gail
