Hello all!

I would like to say a massive apology to everyone for the lack of blog entries over the last few weeks - I certainly have not started as I mean to go on! Unfortunately, the internet has not been working at home (the telephone line got struck by lightening!), we do however now have the internet at the Family Centre but it has been so hectic over the last few weeks, I haven't had a few spare minutes of peace to write an entry!

Well it's now 9:34am and I'm due at the Ethembeni Hospice in 26 minutes, but I will try to fill you in a little bit on recent activities. I do, however, hope to write in more detail about the last couple of weeks, when time allows!

Wednesday September 30th was a very moving day. In the morning I was up bright and early for breakfast, then Grant and I went off to the clinic in Mpophomeni for a bit of prayer and worship. This was quite an experience. Firstly we went to pick up Margaret, a lovely old lady who lives in the township. This meant she got the front seat & I could jump in the back of the truck, much to my delight! Well the speed bumps and potholes weren't pleasant, but I love a bit of adventure! The clinic is like a large doctors surgery, with a waiting room in the middle, which despite the early hour was already half full of people. We began with a song, which was lovely, all the nurses came out of the rooms and everyone sang together, I have no idea what about, but it sounded beautiful. Then Margaret preached, and Grant said she had really inspired and uplifted all the people. Often at the clinic, there is a real negative vibe, obviously because a lot of the people there are very sick and lacking in hope, but after Margaret preached, there was a great spirit of joy in the building. We prayed and sang again, everyone singing at the top of voices, which for Africans is pretty loud! I felt honoured to be a part of that time, it was a privilege to draw alongside these people, knowing my God is their God and He is a good God, who can bring hope and healing. During the singing, we walked around the room in a line shaking hands with everyone, kinda like doing the conga! Again I felt so blessed to be here, to be a part of this, to be accepted by these people into their lives. When we had made it round the waiting room, which was pretty huge and by now full of people, I was struck by how individual each person was, I wanted to do more than just shake their hands, I wanted to chat to them, to get to know them, to be a friend to them. I am so grateful we have a God who can do all that, and more, that we have a God who can provide for all our needs, however great they are.

Well, my times up for now and I'm still on Wednesday morning - eep!

Thank you to everyone for your support - for the financial sacrifices that have allowed me to be here, and for all the prayers too - I really do appreciate it more than I can say.

Over n out
