Good morning. Yesterday evening after I finished the latest entry on here I went to meet the others for dinner which is when we all realised about the typhoon that has hit Asia. We are all fine and we don't expect to be affected by it. To clear a few things up. We are currently in Laos in the capital Vientiane. We left Vietnam two days ago and seem to have just missed the floods there. We were not aware of the situation because we have had two days of long travelling and have not seen any news until yesterday evening. We spent our first night in Laos in Lac Sao which experienced a power cut for the majority of the time that we were there. We now know that this was due to the flooding as I think pretty much all electricity here is from hydro power.
I received everybody's messages on my phone last night before I went to bed. I will keep my phone on all the time now but I'm not sure how quick messages get through. I am not sure how often I will get to the internet now, mainly because I think I will be really busy and also because I don't know how easily I will get to the internet as the last few places we have been to it has been a bit more difficult to find good computer access. However I will try and at least get short messages on here but in the meantime you can text me if you need to and I will try and send one back. I havn't sent a text yet but I'm sure it will work - everyone else's does.
We will keep an eye on the news but you shouldn't worry as the weather is not expected to hit here. There has been a bit of a breeze and currently it is raining a bit but nothing to worry about. The majority of our journey the last two days has been across mountains so they should be a buffer against the storm.
Regarding the boat trip, nobody seems to know anything about it. It hasn't been on the news here. We are guessing it was perhaps in Nha Trang? Apparently they have glass bottomed boats there.
Anyway we are all having a really good time still. We are now just down to the original famous five! Tim, Marta, Lea, Markus and myself. We have all been on the trip right from the beginning so it's really nice. Tim is also enjoying it because he has never been with such a small group. So yeah we're all fine, met up with some of Marta's friends last night and got drunk again as you can buy 3litres of beer at a time here. Spent a large part of the evening talking to a lady boy which was interesting! So all in all same, same! 😊

Hi Becks. We're glad that you are safe, well and happy and having such a brilliant time! Can't believe you have been eating snakes! Yuk! It's fantastic that you have been having some wonderful treatments and having clothes tailored for you. These are special days for you to remember and some indulgence balances up some of the more upsetting things you've come across on your trip like the Killing Fields. Can't wait to catch up when you get back and see all your photos. Jane and Tony xx
